Title: LPF Secretary Report for February-March

Meetings Attended: 

• Membership Committee
• LPF EC Meeting
• Communications Committee
• Rules Committee
• Fundraising Committee

 

Officer Duties: 

• Taking meeting minutes
• Sending out agenda for regular and special meetings
• NationBuilder maintenance
• County Reaffiliation

 

Actions Taken: 

• Maintaining Membership Records: added new voter data and working through merging duplicates (over 2000!)
• Reaffiliation period: working through getting counties reaffiliated for this year.

 

Communication and Engagement: 

• Various emails and meeting participation.
• Lots of back-and-forth emails with those that are reaffiliating. We discovered bylaws require several things that haven't been routinely checked, including meeting notices on websites and secretary notes from the most recent meeting.
• Offered reaffiliation calls as needed, but so far nobody has taken me up on that.

 

Challenges or Issues: 

• While I've largely enjoyed many of the secretary duties, the reaffiliation period is a good reminder of how thankless this job can feel. Libertarians are not always thrilled to be asked to do things, even when they're simple. Be kind to your secretaries, people!
• Not many counties are reaffiliated yet. Region Reps should be checking in with their various counties to see if they need help. Shout-out to Diona Kozma, all counties in Region 13 are reaffiliated or well on their way!

 

Other Contributions: 

• Prepping for Spring Bash planning, collecting auction items, etc.
• I've learned how to set up NationBuilder emails to help affiliates that need a boost at their upcoming meetings and events. We have the ability to target Counties and Cities, among other things. The Communications Committee has helped me send these out. This is largely an easy task, and something Region Reps and Affiliate Support should probably be taking on.
• I have sent several blasts, including one for Alachua and another for St. Johns. I've sent a couple emails for Santa Rosa as well.

 

Goals for Next Month: 

• Spring Bash, our first quarterly fundraiser!
• Wrap up reaffiliation
• Move on to convention credentialing
• Clear the NationBuilder duplicates queue
• Import March voter data when it's ready.
• Social Media updates.
