Title: Motion to Create Evets Coordinator Position for the Libertarian Party of Florida
Mover: John R. Thompson
Motion: I move to create the unpaid volunteer position of Events Coordinator for the Libertarian Party of Florida. The duties and term of the position of Events Coordinator are described as follows:
- Events Coordinator is responsible for creating a calendar of events in the State of Florida that the LPF will provide support for tabling,
- Events Coordinator will coordinate with local affiliates of the LPF and achieve written agreement from the local affiliate Chairman that the support of the LPF is requested,
- Events Coordinator will develop an itemized cost proposal with tiered levels of support for each event,
- Events Coordinator will develop a proposal of goals and metrics of success for each event,
- Events Coordinator will submit those proposals with the local affiliate agreement to Officers of the LPF via email at least three months prior to the specific event,
- Events Coordinator will target a minimum of six events in 2022 and twelve events in 2023, these events will involve at least four different regions of the LPF,
- Targeted Events are to be generally well established, well attended, less than one week in duration, and not in conflict with the Party Platform,
- Financial obligation by the LPF is limited to not more than $1000 per event and all budgets are approved by the LPF Executive Committee prior to obligation
- Events Coordinator will work with LPF standing committees to achieve LPF goals
- Events Coordinator will report progress to the Executive Committee of the LPF on a regular basis, including at least monthly conference calls with an appointed Officer.
-
I would prefer to have an Events Committee again to conduct these activities.

Suzanne, the committee would need to be limited and active. I moved a coordinator because its a single point of contact, and it streamlines the effort. There is nothing preventing the Coordinator from having a working group (I would gladly support it), but a committee is redundant to the executive committee on this point. Rep. Baxter wants the role, and I believe she will do well. Whoever the coordinator is, the Executive Committee is ultimately responsible.
