LPF Rules Committee canceled its regular meeting in September due to Hurricane Ian and did not hold its working meeting in October due to conflicts in members’ schedules.
The reconciled LPF Constitution, Bylaws, and Standing Rules were certified by the LPF Secretary and published on the public and functioning website by the LPF Communications Committee, thus bringing our governing documents up to date and completing this outstanding task.
We continued offline review of the sample county affiliate constitution and bylaws and of the recommitted 2022 Rules motions. We also responded to informal inquiries from county affiliates and LPF EC members.
Planned Activities
- Complete sample county affiliate constitution and bylaws to return to Affiliate Support
- Complete and vote on recommitted 2022 Rules motions
- Continue review of Standing Rules to identify sections to strike as unnecessary
- Respond to outstanding LP Broward inquiry
- Respond to any new inquiries from EC, affiliates, and other committees
- Work on setting up Basecamp and provisioning all Rules documents there
- Initiate work on new constitution and bylaws proposals
Schedule
- Regular Meetings will occur on fourth Wednesday at 5:30pm on Discord
- Working Meetings will occur on second Wednesday at 5:30pm on Discord
- Committee will operate continuously on Discord in between meetings
- ✓ September 14 - initiate work on rules report
- January 25 - freeze scope of rules report; no new motions after this point
- February 22 - approve draft Rules Report for public notice
- March 20 - incorporate public comment, final public notice hard deadline
