Title: Motion to approve $2,500 in expenditures for a 2023 LPF Holiday Party

Motion: I move to approve a budget not to exceed $2,500 for the purpose of hosting a Holiday Party for the Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) scheduled for Saturday, December 9th, 2023 at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2267 in Tamarac, FL.

Discussion:

The purpose of the event is political fundraising and entertainment. There will be at least one candidate in attendance speaking at the Holiday Party, in addition to dinner, dessert, drinks, and auction event through the night. There will also be a private, VIP Luncheon, with a maximum of ten (10) guests conducted earlier in the day at a Pompano Beach, FL restaurant.

Tickets to the VIP Luncheon will include a private lunch and drinks with distinguished guest speakers and party leaders, in addition to admission to the Holiday Party later in the evening. The regular ticketed portion of the event will include a guest speaker and Holiday Party, to include dinner, drinks, gift bags, and much fun. This will be a repeat of the LPF's event from last year, which was highly successful.

The VIP Luncheon will have a limit of ten (10) tickets, at a $195 planned price point. With the VIP ticket price, a sold out luncheon event would gross $1,950. The Holiday Party will have a limit of fifty (50) tickets, at a $50 planned price point, which means a full room would gross $2,500. This would mean a potential total gross profit of $4,450 on a completely sold out event. The expected expenditures are $2,500, including securing the venue, drinks, food, expenses for speakers, gift bags, decorations. The event needs fifty (50) regular event tickets sold to break even, assuming no VIP tickets are sold. Tickets will be comped for any current or prior LPF candidate from the 2022 Election cycle.

Last year's event sold 4 VIP Luncheon event tickets, and 14 regular event tickets, with another 3 tickets to the regular event comped for our past LPF candidates. This year we intend to sell 10 VIP tickets and 40 regular event tickets, taking a longer lead time into consideration. Potential sponsors will be contacted as a additional revenue stream to help defray costs. There will be additional fundraising “asks” during the event, as well as a fundraising auction to help generate additional revenue.
