LP Florida Platform Committee
December 2025 Report
Chair: Karl Dickey     Platform & Legislative Activities

This past month, we submitted two bills of interest to the EC for the LPF to consider.
We are working on approximately 20 more, and we plan to start sending a minimum of 2 bills per month for consideration as the legislative session begins on January 13, 2026, and ends on March 13, 2026. In the future, we will also include a proposed press release for the EC’s consideration with each bill.

We have a team of three who are actively working on bills going through the Florida legislature, and will consider any platform changes to the LPF, if any, in time for the next state convention in February 2026.

Communications / December 2025 Communications Committee Report
« Last post by Communications on December 19, 2025, 01:57:40 PM »
December was an active and productive month for the Communications Committee, with a continued focus on maintaining consistent outreach, supporting candidates, and ensuring the Libertarian Party of Florida remains visible and engaged across multiple channels.

During the month, the committee distributed multiple email blasts to the membership, providing timely updates on Party activities, public statements, and upcoming initiatives. These communications were designed to keep members informed while reinforcing the LPF’s principled positions and strategic priorities.

The committee also maintained an active presence on social media, publishing posts that highlighted LPF messaging, current events, and Party leadership efforts. Social platforms continue to be a critical tool for engaging members, reaching new audiences, and amplifying libertarian perspectives statewide.

Ongoing maintenance of the LPF website remained a priority. This included publishing blog posts and news articles, updating content as needed, and ensuring the site continues to function as a reliable hub for Party information, statements, and public engagement. Newsletter content was also prepared and distributed to provide members with a more comprehensive overview of Party activities and messaging.

In addition, the Communications Committee worked directly with LPF candidates to assist with messaging, promotion, and visibility. This included coordination on announcements, fundraising efforts, and campaign-related communications.

With the absence of a fully functioning Fundraising Committee, the Communications Committee also assisted with fundraising efforts to help ensure continued financial support for the Party. Committee member Lisa organized and launched a Giving Tuesday fundraiser, which raised just under $1,000. While this effort was appreciated and demonstrated initiative, it also highlighted the need for stronger coordination, broader outreach, and more aggressive fundraising strategies moving forward. The Party can and should do better in this area.

Overall, December reflected strong continuity in communications operations and demonstrated the committee’s ability to adapt and support the broader needs of the Party. The Communications Committee remains focused on expanding reach, improving engagement, and ensuring that the Libertarian Party of Florida presents a consistent, professional, and principled message moving into the new year.

Chair / December 2025 Chair Report
« Last post by Chair on December 19, 2025, 01:53:56 PM »
Throughout the month, I contributed multiple written pieces addressing liberty-centered issues for Florida news outlets and for publication on the LPF website. These efforts were aimed at reinforcing the Party’s principled positions on property rights, civil liberties, and government overreach while increasing the LPF’s visibility and credibility across the state. Media engagement remains a key priority as we continue to assert a clear libertarian voice in public discourse.

Work also continued with the LPF Convention Committee in preparation for the upcoming LPF Convention in February. Coordination with the committee advanced on logistics, programming, and overall execution. I have also been working closely with Mike Seebeck, who will serve as parliamentarian for the convention, to ensure that procedural expectations are clear and that the convention is conducted in a professional, transparent, and orderly manner consistent with Party rules and best practices.

On the national front, I worked with members of the Libertarian National Committee and LPF leadership to put forward qualified Florida members for consideration on the LNC Credentialling and Platform Committees. Ensuring strong Florida representation in these areas is critical, particularly as we approach the next national convention cycle and engage in serious internal discussions about Party governance and platform direction.

In addition to these efforts, I continued regular communication with LPF members, county affiliates, and national counterparts to maintain alignment on strategic priorities and organizational goals. December provided an opportunity not only to close out the year, but to lay groundwork for a strong start to 2026.

I appreciate the continued dedication of our volunteers, committee members, and activists across Florida. The Party enters the new year with momentum, clarity of purpose, and an opportunity to advance liberty more effectively at both the state and national levels.

Secretary / November–December 2025 Report: Statement of Resignation
« Last post by Secretary on December 19, 2025, 01:44:19 PM »
Instead of submitting my usual November–December report, I am using this space to formally announce my resignation from my LPF roles, effective at the close of the Executive Committee meeting on December 21, 2025.

I do this with a mix of pride, reflection, and honesty.

I am proud of the work accomplished over the past three years, including nearly twenty-three months serving as Secretary. This work was never done alone. A small but committed group of people consistently stepped up, showed up, and carried responsibility during a particularly difficult period for the party. Their efforts mattered, and I am grateful for them.

At the same time, I have been experiencing burnout for quite some time, and it has become clear that continuing in my current capacity is no longer sustainable.

Fundraising is one clear example of both the effort made and the limits we are facing. The Fundraising Committee has not been meeting, and did not plan a holiday party, much like last year; in the absence of a functioning committee, I built and executed a Giving Tuesday campaign. As part of that effort, I completed two hour-long NationBuilder trainings and created and ran the campaign, which raised just shy of $1,000.

I am grateful for every donor who contributed; however, that level of funding is not enough to sustain the party’s operational needs. With a motion to renew NationBuilder due in January, we are facing hard financial realities.

My recommendation is that LPF make fundraising the top priority in the coming months and be realistic and proactive with NationBuilder. We should notify them as soon as possible that we cannot commit to the price currently being asked and attempt to negotiate a one-year renewal at 50% of the fee. This is worth trying. If the answer is no, we should be prepared to walk away rather than overextend a party that does not currently have the financial base to support the platform at full cost. If NationBuilder is paused or discontinued, it will be important to have technically capable volunteers ready to assist with a website transition and data preservation.

Post-election years are always difficult. This year, in particular, has highlighted the importance of sustainability and respect for volunteer time and energy. A healthy organization depends on engaged officers who are responsive, who actively participate in at least one committee, and who contribute to the party’s sustainability, either by helping raise funds or, when possible, donating directly. When those expectations are not met, it strains the people who are actively contributing and weakens the organization as a whole.

But this is not about blame. It's about building a structure that can last, one that values participation, shared ownership, and respect for the effort being given by others.

I am happy to assist whoever steps up between now and the close of the December 21, 2025 meeting to prepare for convention, and I am not disappearing. I plan to remain active with the Libertarian Party of Palm Beach County and within the broader liberty movement. But I need a real break from my LPF roles and from the pace and scope of responsibility that has contributed to my burnout.

I want to offer special thanks to the people who consistently showed up and contributed in meaningful ways: Nicole Skelly, John Thompson, Matt Johnson, Beth Johnson, Larry Gillis, Leon Armstrong, Brent Lawhon, Steve Gallant, and Ed Appler. Their efforts, professionalism, and commitment made a real difference during a challenging period.

I wish LPF the very best moving forward. I hope the next chapter brings renewed energy, expanded fundraising, engaged officers who genuinely want to make a difference, and a culture that respects volunteer time while building something sustainable together.

In Liberty,

Lisa Gansky
