Communications / August 2025 Communications Committee Report
« Last post by Communications on August 17, 2025, 01:56:53 PM »
This month we brought on a few new members to the committee and held the first meeting.  We're working with the Convention Committee to get the convention website running, and have launched the Theme Contest.  We're also working on completing a few affiliate transitions to NationBuilder.  Lastly, the Brevard affiliate has a candidate who needs a website we're working on as well.

Region 1 Reports by county

Escambia - I had an email blast sent for July updates on the affiliate and events. Email blast brought in one new Libertarian, Suzy, to the 7/27 business meeting which I was in attendance of as well. 8 people in attendance for 7/27 business meeting total. Had another email blast sent for August updates on the affiliate and events. Pursued a lead from Richardo Mejias about a Libertarian in our area, Garrison Story. Emailed and called him. Mr. Story attended the 08/13 social as did I. 8 people in attendance for 8/13 social meeting total. Their next 2 events are a business meeting on 08/24 and tailgating at the first home UWF football game on 08/29.

Santa Rosa - I had an email blast sent for the July updates on the affiliate and events. I cold called 20 Libertarians and invited them to the 07/26 LPSRC event which I attended. 07/26 business meeting had 5 people in attendance total. I proposed starting a run club in our county hosted by the Libertarian Party of Santa Rosa County. It was accepted by the EC. I also handle the social media posts for this affiliate since it is my home county. I kept up weekly on our X, FB, and website posts. I attended the 08/08 LPSRC social meeting with 6 people total in attendance. 3 of these people came from Okaloosa. I attended the Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District meeting on 08/12. I also attended Civicon for Santa Rosa County at the BOCC on 08/12.

Okaloosa - I am continuing to gather contacts and reaching out to leads about affiliating this county. One of the contacts I made put a Libertarian, Lacey, from Crestview in touch with me. Lacey was one of the attendees at the LPSRC 08/08 social. She has asked if the Libertarians active in the party in Region 1 would be interested in participating in a music festival she is organizing. Lacey is the founder of Project HPF which stands for hope, prosperity and freedom. Here is a link to the website https://www.projecthpf.org/. I have committed to a booth/table to market the party. Lacey has also asked that I help organize discussions around local grassroots governance, oversight, and reform.  I believe I will be giving a 2-to-5-minute talk. A couple of LPEC members are stand up comedians and they have committed to performing or possibly being an MC for the event. I will find out more details at the Vibefest meeting on 08/18. I ask if anyone has previous experience with giving talks or writing speeches to please reach out to me. I would love some input on the direction I am taking and my speech writing. I will also be reaching out to the Bay County affiliate to see if they could participate or at least attend. I think this Vibefest will be great exposure for our affiliates in the panhandle, and if Okaloosa and Walton are not affiliated by October this event should help get it done.

Walton - Gathering contacts for affiliation. I will start posting and reaching out on September 1st.

Region 1 - I attended the LPF General and EC meeting on 07/20. I signed up to attend a Toastmasters meeting. My first one will be 08/28. I am also hoping my fundraising links in my email blasts brought something in. Lastly, in August I committed to a monthly contribution of $5 to my home county affiliate, the LPF and the LP.

Greetings,
During the month of August R11 drafted a region outreach plan. This plan provides a framework for activities moving forward within the region.  Following is the drafted plan:

1) Set a baseline to measure growth within the region.
   -   Registered Libertarian voters
   -   LPF members
   -   County LP Affiliate members
2)  Identify and acquire tools for community outreach
   -   NationBuilder
   -   Issue affinity within the region
3)  Acquire local community platform via FB
4)  Create opportunities to grow the region through social events
5)  Convert event attendees to registered Libertarian voters and LPF members
6)  Recruit leaders to continue hosting events and promote LPF
7)  Recruit leaders to found county LPF affiliates
8)  Rinse and repeat

Next step is work on steps 1 and 2 above.
