Region 8 Report 7/13/2021

Hernando County

There is a Libertarian Party of Hernando County Facebook page, I have not been granted access to it, I've messaged the page with no response, we may want to get them shut down and create a new one, or whatever the EC sees fit. I've sent them another message, hopefully they respond. We had an individual reach out via the LPF website interested in running for Brooksville City Council in 2022. I sent an email but got no response, will be giving him a call later. Nothing organized yet in the county.

Pasco County

Nate Stevens and Ryan Otero have coordinated a meetup in Pasco, went well. I have access to the Facebook page and have been regularly posting Libertarian related pictures/memes and have garnered a few new likes to the page. We will continue outreach to try to get more turnout and get them organized.

Pinellas County

Pinellas is running smoothly, don't have admin access to their page, will request it down the line, but they are posting frequently. They are running a candidate for US House District 13, Mr. Frank Craft, Jr.

They have also planned several great social events. Launching the Registered Libertarian Engagement Program (RLEP) at this months business meeting (7/15). The goal being to increase engagement among already registered Libertarians in the county. Current initiatives include a Monthly Pledge Program, Pay what you can Liberty Yoga. Lots of participation via electronic communications on various platforms.

Hillsborough

They had a social event last month, good turnout, a few attendees interested in filling officer positions, good constructive conversations about engagement and outreach. Current plan is to re-engage the current officers in order to start having meetings again. It is my understanding they successfully submitted their DOE filing due on 7/12. Expecting a lot of movement with this affiliate after the first week of August.

Polk

We had a great time hosting the convention and we appreciate everyone's kind words to our volunteers. As you all are aware, we are supporting Matthew Crowley for Winter Haven City Commissioner (https://www.facebook.com/MatthewCrowleyForWinterHaven/). Fundraising has picked up with the sale of our Liberty Pups dog biscuits and T-shirts you all saw at the convention, the shop is up and running and we continue to get orders. We recently adopted an overhaul of our Constitution and Bylaws with the help of Chris Rose, shout out to him! Membership Chair Tim Crosby has been super active trying to engage with registered Libertarians and has worked hard on a contact list to tap some more volunteers and potential candidates.
