April 2025 DAL 2 Report1. I was recently nominated and approved as DAL2. I promptly missed my first regular meeting of the EC, in exercise of a blissful, self-inflicted ignorance. I have received my LPF email assignment and have been granted access to our EC Bulletin Board.
2. I have volunteered to be a member of the LPF EC Membership Committee and have spoken with the chair, in addition to attending our regular committee meeting (April 13).
3. My letter to the editors of the
Cape Coral Breeze (published twice-weekly) and the
Fort Myers News-Press (published daily) was published. With Lisa Gansky's very-serious help, a highly-edited and highly-enlarged version of that letter is now displayed on the LPF website ("The Ground-Glass Sandwich").
https://www.lpf.org/ground_glass_sandwich 4. I continue to comment several times a week on postings in "Florida Politics", identifying myself now as a DAL of the LPF. There, I am a simple Pilgrim in an unholy place. (Often enough, my work is the only posted response).

I am hopeful that the LPF EC will recommend to our affiliates that they consider applying to the adult-ed programs in their local colleges, universities, and other schools, proposing a course on "Libertarianism 101". The course should be based heavily on the State and National LP platforms. If nothing else, it will put our "brand" before the eyes of thousands of Floridians, at little or no cost.
6. My own proposal to FGCU (Fort Myers) for just such a course is now pending their administrative approval and will hopefully be included in their next "Academy" catalogue. (FYI, I just finished presenting a brief course there on "Sherlock Holmes' Baskerville" at an assisted-living facility. It was great fun).
