By County Updates
Baker (unaffiliated): No updates at this time.
Clay (affiliated): Clay County represents one of two affiliated counties within Region 5. They held a September Meeting and Social on September 28th. They have an October Meeting and Schedule scheduled for October 26th.
Duval (affiliated): Will welcome a local candidate for school board at their October 19th meeting and another park cleaning on October 23rd. Duval County Chair DL Cummings is also working with Anthony Welti from Spike Cohen’s campaign team in an effort to receiving tailored training. Members are also working towards creating cards to give out with Halloween candy for Halloween evening and looking to develop a citizen’s pothole correction program.
Nassau (unaffiliated): No new updates.
St. Johns (unaffiliated): Social gathering scheduled for November 3rd at 6:00 PM at Sarbez in St. Augustine. This establishment is located within the one mile stretch of A1A that is currently adopted by “St. Augustine Libertarians” through the Adopt a Highway campaign.
Region Rep Updates
I attended the General Membership call in this cycle, the Candidate Committee call, and the special meeting call. Also worked with the Communications Chair to take necessary steps to hopefully gain access to the St. Johns County Libertarian Facebook page.
Future Goals
Compile list of registered and active LPF voters in Nassau and Baker counties to reach out to regarding potential affiliate startups.
Work towards affiliating the St. Johns County as that has generated considerable interest among like-minded libertarians in the area. Hopeful to develop key takeaways after November’s social.
