Report of the LPF Rules Committee
October 17, 2021
The Rules Committee meets continuously in the committee Discord channel.
The committee chairman confirmed and communicated to the LPF Secretary a review by committee vice chairman Rose of the draft minutes of the recent Annual Business Meeting.
The committee chairman has continued research on a request from an affiliate, through their Regional Representative, to craft an amendment to LPF Constitution Article II, Section 4 more explicitly to allow affiliates to choose a precinct delegate structure for their executive committee. The result of this research will include a draft response to be discussed in committee and voted upon before becoming the official response of the committee. We have separately received from an interested party a request for a hearing regarding some details. This could not be accommodated before this report was due, but we hope to schedule it in the near future with proper notice after obtaining necessary assistance from the Communications Committee, and to deliver the final response as soon afterward as the insights gained in that hearing allow.
The committee chairman is also working with past staff of the Affiliate Support Committee to produce suggested improvements to the Affiliation Guide for consideration by that committee's current membership. This is in response to a request from the Affiliate Support Committee.
These tasks, and other responsibilities of the committee chairman to other organizations, have limited his ability to drive expected progress in the committee this month. We look forward to increased committee productivity in the near future as those non-job, non-party responsibilities are now limited to a few hours per week.
For the Rules Committee,
Tony Sellers (Chairman)
