Chairmans Annual Report February 2022
« on: March 20, 2022, 06:39:46 PM »
This past EC and Committee Chairs have been an astounding group, largely a mix of senior tenured and new members to both the Libertarian Party and the Executive Committee. The mixture has brought a lot of much needed energy combined with experienced guidance and structure. I believe the trajectory for 2022 is going to be even better because of the battle proven nature of the Party’s leadership, just in time for the hotly anticipated 2022 election season. Intelligent planning and execution with a sense of urgency is going to be required to take advantage of the coming election season. As things get more challenging in terms of quality of life and hot button state issues, it is more important that we get in front of our constituents in a meaningful way for both electoral and membership success.
We have made progress on all fronts as far as committee roles, and as funding has been less and less of a restriction, we are able to fund projects and ideas more readily. Leadership is a fundamental and important part of any successful committee operation, with important tasks such as scheduling, goal tracking, delegation, and conflict resolution at the forefront. I have seen an overall much better leadership team than in previous years and will make leadership skills a specific training modality in 2022.
In the past year we saw the successful launch of the fundraising contractor program, which has not only been net positive in terms of increased net revenue but has also generated positive membership relations. I fully intend to continue this program with an additional fundraising contractor position, for a total of two, with the goal of $100,000 per year in revenue. I would like to give a special thank you to Celicia Slafter for her service in this role which has helped to define the duties and best practices for this position.
As Chairman I am the authorized voice of the party, and as in previous years I will be pursuing earned media attention. I have met with a Public Relations company that offers journalist contacts and press release support for the entire state of Florida, I am currently seeking other state affiliates to share the cost to participate in the program. I will be working heavily with our Communications teams to get the Party into the media spotlight to promote the brand, candidates, and libertarian policy issues. I will also be working to get our own ambassadors into the media and use these platforms and relationships to help get our candidates and locals connected.
The primary goals of the next term will be to foster our mid-term election candidate support through operation first step, expand our fundraising capabilities with the hiring and training of two home grown fundraising specialists, and to heavily invest and support our affiliates through material aide, financial incentives, and technology support. It will be through these primary areas of focus that we will expand and formalize LPF infrastructure to reach membership and voter goals of electoral and local success while also building the Libertarian Party of Florida state apparatus to be able to provide more value to our members, candidates, and affiliates on the ground. This year presents many golden opportunities in the form of mid-term elections which the LPF will need rock solid coordination with local affiliates and regional representatives to take advantage of. Volunteer outreach and onboarding is crucial for the success of these programs and should be given special consideration by the Executive Committee.
Our main opportunities are to ensure that the Party is unified under one common vision, with skilled and knowledgeable leadership, and to bring value to our members and teams on the ground in both affiliates and campaigns. I am confident that as we continue into 2022, build out bench, and meet our goals, we will be improving the state of our party and headed towards tangible success and growth as both an organization and a movement.

Sincerely,
Steven Nekhaila
