Motion:
I move to amend Article 2, Section 5 of the LPF's Standing Rules to raise the chair's discretionary spending amount from $100/mo to $250/mo.
Discussion:
Currently our Standing Rules authorizes for the chair to spend up to $100/mo in discretionary spending. This amounts to $1,200/yr in potential expenditures. This amendment would raise the chair's discretionary spending limit to $250/mo or $3,000/yr. The increase would be to allow the chair more flexibility on what they are able to cover, in addition to account for the recent increase in the price of goods and services as well as inflation.
There is no way to give a firm number on the potential financial impact to the LPF, but could be a additional $1,800 over the course of the year. Due to the discretionary nature of this expenditure, the chair may not utilize this expenditure every month, reducing the overall financial impact to the party.
