Rules Committee - December 18, 2022
LPF Rules Committee held our regular meeting on November 30, 2022. We also conducted weekly working meetings on December 7 and December 14.
We formally rejected the 2022-ABM-C03 constitutional amendment motion recommitted to us from the 2022 Annual Business Meeting due to the same changes having already been implemented by previous motion 2021-ABM-C06 that was already adopted.
We initiated the review of 2022-ABM-C06, 2022-ABM-B01, and 2022-ABM-B05. We anticipate proposing substitute motions for 2022-ABM-C06 and 2022-ABM-B01 and minor amendments to 2022-ABM-B05 pending further review by the committee.
We published a draft sample county affiliate constitution on November 30 and conducted an audit of it on December 14 against the statutory checklist developed by the Affiliate Support Committee. Based on this audit and feedback, we made minor amendments and adopted the final sample county affiliate constitution on December 14.

Planned Activities
Complete sample county affiliate bylaws to return to Affiliate Support
Complete and vote on remaining recommitted 2022 Rules motions
Continue review of Standing Rules to identify sections to strike as unnecessary
Respond to outstanding LP Broward inquiry
Respond to any new inquiries from EC, affiliates, and other committees
Work on setting up Basecamp and provisioning all Rules documents there
Initiate work on new constitution and bylaws proposals

Regular Meetings will occur on fourth Wednesday at 5:30pm on Discord
Working Meetings will occur on weekly every Wednesday at 5:30pm on Discord
Committee will operate continuously on Discord in between meetings
✓ September 14 - initiate work on rules report
January 25 - freeze scope of rules report; no new motions after this point
February 22 - approve draft Rules Report for public notice
March 20 - incorporate public comment, final public notice hard deadline
