2023 Region 14 Annual Report

Over the past year, my main focus as Region 14’s Representative has been on fostering a sense of community among libertarians. I’ve helped to organize social events that bring us closer together, in particular, with Comedy Nights at local comedy clubs. Why comedy? Because comedy clubs are a perfect environment to celebrate our first amendment rights! And laugh while doing it. In addition to this, another significant accomplishment has been our work to reaffiliate the Keys (Monroe County) into the LPF, with valuable assistance from Monroe resident and former LPF Chair, Steven Nekhaila. We’re getting very close, and the website should be up soon!

In terms of highlights, we hosted the Dave Smith comedy show at the Dania Beach Improv, which drew LPF members from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties for a night of laughter and ancap camaraderie. Additionally, our Biscayne Bay Cleanup day was a resounding success, showcasing the principles of voluntaryism and forging a new partnership with Biscayne Bay Paddle Board & Kayak, who have offered us a discounted rental rate for future cleanup events.

We were fortunate to host several speakers, including 2024 Libertarian presidential candidates Mike ter Maat and Chase Oliver, during intimate gatherings. As I transition to my new home in Palm Beach – and a new Region – I am optimistic that our tradition of comedy nights and voluntary cleanup days will continue to thrive under LP Miami-Dade Chair Hector Roos and both LP Miami-Dade and LP Keys affiliates.

Thank you to all Region 14 members, for both your help and support and participation in the LPF. I look forward to the continued growth and success of our libertarian community in the years to come.

In Liberty,
Lisa Gansky
