The committee was asked some questions this month which were addressed during a discord call on October 16th with committee members and fielded by the chair on October 18th.
Questions discussed in these calls include the following:
- If there is a change to the committees 9/25 opinion and previous on the JFC considering new discussion items. Committee's opinion is unchanged. The JFC in question violates Rules VII.1 and is not an allowable agreement type under VII.2.
- If a member of another political party can be a member of a committee in the LPF. If the member in question is still a member of the LPF in good standing they are still members of any committee or appointments they hold. The Executive committee may revoke committee positions they appoint for any reason. If the individual is no longer a member of the LPF (for example if they expressly request to terminate membership, or if they change voting registration) the committee seat is vacated.
- Are ex-officio members of a committee entitled to vote? The Ex officio members are entitled to vote and make quorum under RONR 12th. This is covered under 47:3, 49:8-9, and 50:16. 47 and 49 deal with Boards, whereas 50 deals with committees but references back to the paragraphs under boards.
