By County Updates
Baker (unaffiliated): I have gained access to the “Baker County FL Libertarians” Facebook group. I have also communicated with an individual who is seeking ways to grow the LP within the county and hope to create a social gathering soon.
Clay (affiliated): Clay County represents one of two affiliated counties within Region 5. I attended the meeting on July 27th and worked with Michael Cassidy and Ken Willey to spread the LPF message to other patrons of the Cultured Collective establishment where we held the meeting.
Duval (affiliated): I attended the Duval County social gathering on July 20th as we welcomed a guest speaker from the county Democrat Party. Jimmy Midyette discussed his experience on the campaign trail as all three LPF candidates of the 2023 election in Duval County were in attendance.
Nassau (unaffiliated): I gained access to the “Nassau County Florida Libertarians” Facebook group and met an individual who is interested in affiliating the county through a mutual contact who is also a member of the Duval County LPF.
St. Johns (unaffiliated): St. Johns County represents the largest unaffiliated county in Region 5. I have requested access to “The Libertarian Party of St. Johns County” Facebook page which has been a little bit of a struggle as the previous Region Representative never had access to it. I have spoken to multiple LPF members in the county who are interested in establishing an affiliate and we have a tentative meeting date of August 25th for a social gathering.
Region Rep Updates
I attended the General Membership call on July 31st and voted on both ballot measures throughout the month.
I attended the Candidate Committee call on Monday, August 2nd where we discussed items concerning the campaign of Mike ter Maat.
Reviewed upcoming events (Gun Shows, inclusion events) in an attempt to set up booths.
Future Goals
Compile list of registered and active LPF voters in unaffiliated counties to reach out to regarding potential affiliate startups.
Work towards affiliating the three unaffiliated counties by forging relationships with existing Libertarians by finding events to support LPF messaging.
