On a personal level, December into January have been spent on efforts to organize affiliate documents for affiliation/reaffiliation. We also, as a county affiliate, did our post-mortem on Nathaniel Snyder's run, and have begun talks with local political leaders to find out which seats are vulnerable in 2025 and 2026.
Libertarians in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Polk are still discussing combining efforts to form a larger Tampa Bay - or Region 8 - group that operates in a more coordinated manner in order to pool resources and capitalize on those who would like to be involved in counties that are not organized yet into an affiliate or whose affiliate dissolved prior to my becoming Region 8 Rep.
Region 8 Consensus regarding the motions for the October EC meeting:
Motion 847: Region 8 intends to vote yes to approve speakers, performers, and parliamentarian after discussion.
Hillsborough:
We wrapped up Nathaniel Snyder's campaign with an election night party. That followed with a post mortem and executive board meeting in December.
1/6-1/9 - LPH held a leadership retreat for the executive board where we did team building and discussed ideas for the upcoming year.
Pinellas:
Meetings have been put on hold but talks are happening to combine efforts in Tampa Bay. This will allow for more frequency and consistency in meetings.
Polk:
I am still working on building connections with the folks who have expressed interest in getting a Polk affiliate up and running to see if we have a team to form an EC. Follow up to continue now that holidays are over.
Pasco:
I have had multiple people reach out and want to be involved from Pasco. At the moment, we do not have a team willing to take up the responsibility of forming a new affiliate. However, I believe this will possibly happen soon after this election cycle is complete.
Hernando: Minimal interest, still trying to find individuals willing to start an affiliate.
