Affiliate Support Committee
Report for October 17th, 2021

Mission Statement

To advise, assist, and document county affiliates, streamline and clarify rules for county affiliates, and create policies to streamline re-affiliation.

Committee Goals

We are responsible for advising and assisting the Libertarian Party of Florida Secretary, Directors At-Large, and Region Representatives on all matters related to Libertarian Party county affiliates. We aim to develop consistent policies, procedures, and training manuals to recommend to active county affiliates and to Region Representatives for organizing new county affiliates, and to identify and document best practices to improve county affiliate operations.

Regular Meeting Information

ASC meetings have been underway and are scheduled on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 7:30pm EST in the Coffee Chat Room on the LPF Discord. Our meetings are open to any member of the LPF who wishes to participate for full transparency and availability of instant feedback.

Activity for Past Month

  • We’ve held two virtual meetings, primarily centered on refocusing the committee around supporting our current affiliated counties and making them as effective as possible.
  • I’ve begun my outreach to each of the County Chairs and will be compiling a list of requests for the ASC and what they’d like to see in terms of support from the LPF, along with an updated contact sheet, including a list of scheduled meetings, websites, socials and governing docs.

Projects We’re Working On

  • Informing the affiliates of the Operation 1st Step Incentive Program and providing the documentation for them to have any and all information to take advantage of the program.
  • Putting together a ‘permission slip’ for the established local affiliates that would allow the LPF to initiate political action within their counties without violating the bylaws and their autonomy.
  • Working on a guide for affiliates to help them with common questions, ways to contact us, and things they can do to grow and be successful.
  • Looking to go back through the current guides and documents to review and update the information and also make them more accessible, including making them available in spanish.

Closing Remarks

Just want to remind everyone involved at LPF to try and make an effort to attend as many affiliate meetings and events as possible to become better acquainted with our members and their needs. As mentioned earlier every LPF member is welcome to attend any of our meetings and should feel free to reach out to me, at any time, about anything the Affiliate Support Committee may be able to help with.
