Title: Motion to approve a resolution in support of Bitcoin

Motion: I move to approve a resolution supporting Bitcoin as follows:
Whereas, the Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) recognizes Bitcoin (BTC) as part of the future of alternative currencies; and
Whereas, the Libertarian Party of Florida recognizes the destructive force that fiat currencies have become globally against the concept of the free market; and
Whereas, the actions of the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Federal Government have, via currency regulation and market manipulation, lead to unprecedented, historically high levels of inflation in the U.S; and
Whereas, the value of a U.S. Dollar (USD) has depreciated by over 25% since the inception of Bitcoin in 2009, while Bitcoin has risen to a value of over $20,000 per Bitcoin in that same time period; and
Whereas, the Libertarian Party of Florida believes in the advancement of alternative and legal tenders, and states in the Party's Platform that “The State shall not impose any regulations or restrictions on alternative currencies to the U.S. Dollar, nor shall it enforce legal tender law “; and
Whereas, State Governments around the globe have worked tirelessly to regulate or restrict Bitcoin, from being used in regular business transactions, or being held as a asset, by their citizens ; and
Therefore be it,
Resolved, on this 19th Day of June, 2022, that the Libertarian Party of Florida and its body of members call for the support of Bitcoin as a alternative currency to the US Dollar ; and
Resolved, the Libertarian Party of Florida will make efforts to allow for Bitcoin to be a accepted form of currency for any and all donations to the party; and
Resolved, the Libertarian Party of Florida will make efforts acquire and hold one (1) Bitcoin in the Libertarian Party of Florida's name
Resolved, the Libertarian Party of Florida will make efforts to advance legislation at the state and local levels in support of Bitcoin's acceptance and use in the market.
