Mover: Hector Roos on behalf of Anthony Welti, Development Director and Candidates Committee

Motion: Motion to approve the creation of 3 separate budget items for candidate support in federal, state and local elections, respectively. Donors to the LPF will have an option on the donations web page to select to earmark their funds to a "Candidate Fund", and will also have the option to select a sub category for the 3 mentioned groups.

The purpose of these funds is to give donors the ability to contribute directly to issues they care most about, and allow the LPF to easily track these contributions.

These funds shall then be collected and recorded as such by the treasurer. Funds will be made available to LPF members and affiliates at the discretion of the Executive Committee. Regional Representatives will be able to make motions on behalf of the affiliates for ways that these funds can be utilized.

Running and supporting candidates is at the heart of reason why political parties exist. These 3 groups were selected based on the 3 types of elections we run candidates for. Creating these funds also allows the LPF to plan for the future in terms of supporting a national presidential campaign; recruiting candidates for opportunity races and paying their for their qualifying fee; and assisting with logistics and other such support.

This motion is being presented on the behalf of the development director Anthony Welti in an effort to give our membership a way to vote with their dollars and fund the issues that they want to see the LPF supporting without taking away from the general funds.
