Title: Motion to approve $2,250 in expenditures for a 2022 LPF Holiday Party

Mover : Josh Hlavka

Motion: I move to approve a budget not to exceed $2,250 for the purpose of hosting a Holiday Party for the Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF) scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2267 in Tamarac, FL.

Discussion:

The purpose of the event is political fundraising and entertainment. There will be at least one candidate in attendance speaking at the event, as well as a VIP Luncheon with TBD guests at local restaurant close to the party venue.

The VIP Luncheon will include drinks and a private lunch with distinguished guest speakers and party leaders. The regular ticketed portion of the event will include a guest speaker and Holiday Party, to include food, drinks, gift bags, and much fun. This will be a repeat of the LPF's event from last year, which was highly successful.

The VIP Luncheon will have a limit of 10 tickets, at a $195 planned price. With the VIP ticket price, a sold out luncheon event would gross $1,950. The reserved room can comfortably hold 50 people. With $50 planned ticket prices for regular event tickets, a full room would gross $2,500. This would mean a potential total gross profit of $4,450 on a completely sold out event. The expected expenditures are $2,250, including room, drinks, food, expenses for speaker, gift bags, decorations. The event needs 45 regular event tickets sold to break even, assuming no VIP tickets are sold.

Last year's event sold 8 VIP Luncheon event tickets, and 22 regular event tickets. This year we intend to sell 7 VIP tickets and 35 regular event tickets. Potential sponsors will be contacted to help defray costs. There will be additional fundraising “asks” during the event, as well as a fundraising auction to help generate additional revenue.
