By County Updates
Baker (unaffiliated): I have reached out via a post and Facebook messenger to existing parties that may be running the “Baker County FL Libertarians” Facebook group.
Clay (affiliated): Clay County represents one of two affiliated counties within Region 5. I have spoken to Michael Cassidy (Clay County Affiliate Chair) regarding how I can assist with the affiliate moving forward. I plan to attend the July meeting on the 27th.
Duval (affiliated): Duval County recently represented the LPF with tables at the Jax Yoga for Justice and Inclusion event and the Cliffhangers Gun Show. Meeting with DL Cummings (Duval County Affiliate Chair) on July 15th (prior to upcoming EC meeting) to discuss best ways to help Duval move forward as the largest affiliated county within Region 5. I plan to attend the Duval County social gathering on July 20th.
Nassau (unaffiliated): I have reached out via a post and Facebook messenger to existing parties that may be running the “Nassau County Florida Libertarians” Facebook group.
St. Johns (unaffiliated): St. Johns County represents the largest unaffiliated county in Region 5. I have requested access to “The Libertarian Party of St. Johns County” facebook page. I also began a group discussion with members of a group titled “Saint Augustine Libertarians” who even have an adopted highway on A1A near downtown St. Augustine.
Region Rep Updates
I attended the EC Special Meetings on both June 20th and July 7th as well as the Region Reg/Community Call on July 5th.
I am scheduling a future meeting with Michael Cassidy as he wants to pass down previous information that relates to Region 5.
I gained access to “First Coast Libertarians” Facebook page as an admin.
Reviewed upcoming events (Gun Shows, inclusion events) in an attempt to set up booths.
Attended a Jim Turney Campaign luncheon while traveling to and from Orlando for work.
Future Goals
Compile list of registered and active LPF voters in unaffiliated counties to reach out to regarding potential affiliate startups.
Work towards affiliating the three unaffiliated counties by forging relationships with existing Libertarians by finding events to support LPF messaging.
