Supporting Yes On 3 efforts with Florida Cannabis Action Network have taken up some of my time. With former President Trump endorsing Amendment 3, it is now guaranteed to pass. I am involved in efforts to take on implementation before the Florida legislature begins their process of regulating recreational cannabis use. This involves a voluntary green stamp of approval of safety and quality; a workplace policy template (especially for public employees) which involves drug testing; and public policy regarding prohibited use for people driving (personal and commercial) and owning or possessing firearms. I have been offered Vice President of the Legislative Affairs for FLCAN.

I handed off the last onboarding task I had with Nationbuilder to Communications Committee regarding importing our LPF toll free number to Nationbuilder to see can sync our voicemail and text messages to Nationbuilder.

Based on the feedback from the EC, 2 years ago with regards to retired law professor and independent voter Michael Polelle who is suing the state of Florida as a taxpayer forced to pay for internal nominating process of political parties but discriminated against by not being allowed to participate in such "closed primaries". His appeal will be heard on Oct 11 in Jacksonville for rare oral arguments (only 10% of all requests for a hearing are accepted).

I have developed a legal strategy for after November (with the support of the LNC general counsel and others) to attack government-run, taxpayer-funded primaries in Florida. Legal strategy: The Party would like to challenge the basis for why Professor Polelle was rejected, namely the government-run Closed Primaries, potentially replacing them with party-run nominating conventions and ending the public subsidies to the two-party system. The state subsidizes primaries for internal party offices, presidential primaries and nominating primaries. Since virtually all officials in Florida are elected in partisan primaries, we argue that the barrier to entry caused by the Closed Primary scheme obliging voters to choose between voting and registering with the Party is too high to meet and in one-party dominant areas disenfranchises the vast majority of voters such as Professor Polelle who face the choice of forced association. You may recall LP Florida applied for a Presidential Preference Primary but was rejected by an arbitrary decision of the Secretary of State that presidential primaries were only for "major parties" (those that have at least 5% voter registration is a lower turnout, midterm election). There is no such explicit requirement under Florida law. As it applies to Professor Polelle, there is no explicit requirement under Florida law that these Presidential Primaries be held as Closed Primaries either.

Together with el Skipper and the Miami Flying Trapeze School, I am hosting Robbie the Fire Berstein for a comedy show in Miami on October 6.

Preparing an online tutorial series including presentation with worksheets for online distribution and a campaign in a box for future candidates.

Responsibilities as chair of the LPF affiliate of Miami-Dade County have occupied some of my time. The LPMD will be publishing a voter guide on Tuesday, a forward copy of which that has been shared with Mr. Vinson of the legislative action committee.

Also as campaign manager for Feena Bonoan for US Senate and meeting at least once a week.

Personally supported the Oliver-ter Maat ticket fundraising event in Miami hosted by the LNC on August 24th.

Worked with fundraising cmte in development of a new "multi-membership" fundraising program.

Worked on coalition building with Florida Cannabis Action Network, Independent Voter Project among others groups and other third parties.

Working with legal issues related to Florida law restricting the use of ballot access for the LPF and the closed primary (Independent voter project)

Signed, Hector Roos
